esvedeyn is a Turkish rock band formed in 2007.
Among other bands in Europe, esvedeyn is one of the most popular ones with a large fan base. We toured with famous musicians like Duman, Seksendört, Teoman, Kıraç, Gripin, TNK, Umut Kaya and Ogün Sanlısoy.
Our band’s name, esvedeyn, stands for believing in that nothing is impossible. According to legends, a poet sees a scorpion and a snake fall in love with each other. He realises:
“If two incompatible creatures can live in love, everything we think is possible, including impossibility of love.” He calls this esvedeyn.
In 2011, we represented European Turkish rock music in the documentary “Colours of Anatolia” by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry. The adaptation of Aşık Veysel’s poem “Gelmez Yola Gidiyorum (Karanlık Yollarım)” was so popular that it became the documentary’s soundtrack.
In winter 2016, we released our first studio album “iki buçuk”.
